Nash Ecology provides a wide range of ecology services and associated reporting often requested by Local Planning Authorities to inform planning decisions. These surveys include, but are not limited to:

•  Phase 1 Habitat Survey
•  Preliminary Ecological Appraisal
•  Bat surveys and mitigation
•  Surveys and mitigation for specific protected species or groups (e.g. badger, reptiles, amphibians)

▶  PHASE 1 HABITAT SURVEY

We aim to identify potential ecological constraints early in the project timeline, ideally during the design stage to prevent delays and give the most cost-effective approach.
Our surveys identify rare and/or protected species and habitats as well as invasive species.
Our surveys are undertaken in accordance with industry standards (British Standards, CIEEM and JNCC) and reports are provided in the appropriate, high quality format for planning submission
▶  PROTECTED SPECIES SURVEY

Nash Ecology can provide surveys and mitigation advice for a full range of protected species. We utilise both contemporary techniques (such as eDNA analysis and thermal imaging) and traditional approaches to survey to offer the most robust and cost-effective approach to ecological constraints. Appropriately licensed surveyors are used for every survey.
Groups surveyed include:
  • Amphibians (all species)
  • Badgers
  • Barn owls
  • Bats (all species)
  • Breeding birds
  • Invasive species (including Japanese knotweed and Himalayan balsam)
  • Macroinvertebrates (including butterflies and orthopterans)
  • Reptiles (all species)
  • Riparian mammals (otter and water vole).

What our clients say...
“ Nash Ecology was approached by British Gypsum to support our biannual Environmental Health and Safety day with a view to give an overview on biodiversity…they put together a great interactive presentation…which was bespoke to us. They received great feedback from over 150 people that they presented to during the day. Nash Ecology displays a knowledgeable and professional approach, and I would personally recommend their services.”
